In 2014, we asked for your feedback on Class Direct via the User Survey
We listened to what you had to say and have made the following improvements:

Quarterly Listings are going paperless

The Quarterly Listings are going paperless, as part of efforts to improve our service and be more environmentally friendly.
This will be the last time you will receive them by post. Instead, you can now sign up
to receive them by email as a PDF. This feature is available now.
Subscription to this feature is via a drop down menu item under"Links".

From your Fleet, select the vessel(s) for which you want to receive a Quarterly Listing, insert your email address, select Submit and you are subscribed.  You will now receive Electronic Quarterly Listings until you ask us to stop, by removing your email address from this list.  (Please note, it is the client's responsibility to ensure this list is up to date.)

New ‘subset’ account - Available now

At your request, we can now provide a subset account that is limited just to certain vessels within your fleet.  Contact classdirect@lr.org to request this.

New ‘Favourites’ feature - Available now

In line with the Class Direct app for Android and iOS mobile devices, you can now ‘favourite’ vessels which you access regularly and display them together with just one click.

Enhanced Print Listings

We have enhanced the Print Listing facility so that it now delivers exactly
the same content as the Quarterly Listings, and remains accessible
whenever you need it.

Alerts for new survey details

You can subscribe to email alerts which tell you whenever a new survey is available in Class Direct for your ship(s) Select the vessel(s) from your Fleet for which you want to receive an alert, insert your email address, select Submit and you are subscribed.  You will now receive alerts until you ask us to stop, by removing your email address from this list.  (Please note, it is the client's responsibility to ensure this list is up to date.).  This feature is available now.

New URL

In December 2013, we changed the name of the service from Class Direct Live to Class Direct. In line with this,we will soon be updating the URL to www.classdirect.lr.org. The old URL will stay active for a few months, but please make sure you update your bookmarks.

Browser support

Security is a top priority for Lloyd’s Register. To continue to protect your sensitive data, we will be discontinuing support to the security protocol ‘SSL 3.0’ (which has been found to provide insufficient security and which is currently used as a fallback to support users of older browsers and operating systems).
This means that from June 2015, Class Direct will be optimised for access using Windows 7 or later and Internet Explorer (IE) 10 or later(in compatibility mode).

Work to improve support for Chrome, Firefox and Safari is ongoing.
